Equipment
Typical datasets consist of 10,000 or more images requiring 2 -10 TB of data storage. High performance networks and high-performance storage systems are needed to deliver the data quickly for processing.
Most analysis packages for cryoEM data require a GPU with Cuda Capabilities (a technical specification) at 3.5 or more and 12 GB or more of GPU memory. Without the GPU compute resources, processing for analysis can be many times slower.
