BioDiscovery Summer High School Internship
Responsibilities
All responsibilities will be done under the guidance of the expert researchers at The Hormel Institute, who have years of experience running a lab and teaching the next generation of scientists.

Perform basic laboratory experiments

Clean, sanitize, and maintain laboratory “bench” space and equipment

Learn compliance and safety measures and ensure laboratory operations meet and exceed those requirements

Document and maintain lab inventory

Participate in lab meetings and become an active member of the lab team

Participate in professional development opportunities
-
Be curious and learn as much as you can
Required Qualifications

Open to students who will be entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade.

Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions in English

Demonstrated maturity and ability to follow safety rules and compliance regulations

A curious mind
Preferred Qualifications

Skilled in completing work accurately and with attention to detail

A demonstrated interest in science, research, and a lab environment
