The Honorable Wang Yanling, Vice Governor of Henan Province – one of China’s largest provinces – led the delegation in her first visit to The Hormel Institute, University of Minnesota in Austin.

Dr. Zigang Dong, Executive Director of The Hormel Institute, welcomed the delegation along with other leaders, including U.S. Rep. Tim Walz; Mr. Gary Ray, Chair of The Hormel Foundation; Dr. Glenn Forbes, retired Executive Board Chair and Emeritus Physician for Mayo Clinic; State Sen. Dan Sparks; and Austin Mayor Tom Stiehm.

“We are highly appreciative for the Henan Province delegation’s visit to Minnesota and for its outstanding support of our join efforts to accelerate discoveries focused on the prevention and control of cancer

A similar delegation from Henan Province visited The Hormel Institute in October 2012 to celebrate the development of a major, international partnership between The Hormel Institute and Henan Province. The new partnership greatly supports the Institute’s continuing growth and aims to accelerate medical research progress for both countries while also benefiting Minnesota economically.
