About The Hormel Institute

The Hormel Institute is an independent biomedical research facility within the University of Minnesota's Research and Innovation Office (RIO) located in rural Austin, Minnesota. 

We proudly house the only Titan Krios machine in Minnesota, establishing ourselves as the region's leader in cryoEM and cryoET technologies. 

With our commitment to advancing these technologies, we aim to expand our services and establish the Minnesota Bioimaging Center (MBiC).
