The Hormel Institute Research Symposium is an annual event dedicated to fostering scientific collaboration and knowledge exchange. Each year, the symposium highlights a different focus, with last year’s event focusing on building relationships with our regional partners. This year's theme is a unique blend of science and career exploration, offering an enriching experience that emphasizes both professional development and scientific excellence.

We invite a diverse audience, ranging from high school students with a budding interest in science to seasoned professionals. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities designed to inspire and educate. The event will feature a career panel where participants with unique backgrounds and in different stages of their journeys will share their insights and experiences, offering guidance on navigating and advancing in scientific careers. Additionally, poster sessions will provide a platform for trainees and researchers to present their latest findings, fostering an environment of learning and discussion.

Our symposium will also serve as the capstone event for our Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE), showcasing the hard work and discoveries of our participants. This provides a unique opportunity for undergraduates to present their research to a wider audience, gaining valuable feedback and recognition concluding our 10 week program.
