Parking Information

All parking at The Hormel Institute is free of charge and within a short walking distance of the Institute. The visitor parking lot offers 12 spaces located directly outside of the main entrance of The Hormel Institute (located at 801 16th Ave NE Austin, MN 55912).

Additional visitor parking can be found to the east of the building located on the south corner of 8th St NE and 16th Ave NE. Please note that you will need to walk to the main entrance of The Hormel Institute if you use this lot.  

Street parking is also allowed. The highlighted areas on the map below show available parking.

Accessible Parking

There are two parking spaces offered for accessible parking in the visitor parking lot outside of the main entrance.

• Rochester International Airport (RST) is 45 minutes from Austin. 
• Austin MN is located 100 miles south of the main University of Minnesota campus. Rideshare companies do not operate within the city, so a rental car is suggested if traveling from airports.
