Janarjan Bhandari, PhD

Cryo-EM Manager

Aerosol and materials scientist/biophysicist with a broad range of experience in the laboratory and field measurement techniques that involve the designing and execution of challenging experiments, SOP preparation, instrument calibration, and troubleshooting, data retrieval, samples collection, and their characterization by the use of electron microscopy (SEM, TEM, Cryo-EM) and spectroscopy.

I have expertized myself on characterizing the physicochemical properties of nanomaterials (polymers and aerosols) and simulated their optical properties and is interested in their effects on our health, air quality, and climate.

I am a successful collaborator (on several projects and intense campaigns on aerosol studies), an instructor, and a team player and is always motivated to learn new techniques and transfer my skills to other sectors. My ongoing research includes the study of carbonaceous aerosol and protein structures.
